Our approach

Editorial policy & corrections

How we source claims, use AI assistance, verify changes, and separate research from advertising.

Affordable Degree GuideSources checked Editorial policy

Sources that support the actual claim

Use official program pages and catalogs for degree requirements; official tuition schedules for prices; accreditor directories for accreditation; and government resources for public aid rules. A general institutional price does not establish the price of every program.

Material claims link to their supporting sources. Source dates describe a real check, not the date the software happened to rebuild. Unknown values are not replaced with zero.

How AI is used

AI assists with research, drafting, extraction, and software maintenance. Source-backed routine updates may publish after verification and automated checks. Changes to methodology, unsupported claims, program closure, accreditation or licensure, and unusual price movements require maintainer review.

We do not represent AI-assisted work as review by a named expert. Earlier contributor attribution applies only to the work those contributors actually produced.

Corrections

A correction should identify the page, the disputed detail, and a relevant official source. We investigate the source, update the affected records and comparisons, and note a substantive change when appropriate. The contact page describes the correction channel.

Advertising and independence

Advertisements and paid referral links, if introduced, must be labeled. Payment must not determine a cost ranking. The rebuild preview does not run advertising.
